New Flyer Confirms Release of 2008 Financial Statements on March 18, 2009 and Reschedules Earnings Conference Call to 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) on March 20, 2009

New Flyer Industries Inc. (TSX:NFI.UN) (“New Flyer” or the “Company”), the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses in Canada and the United States, today confirmed that as previously announced, the Company intends to release its 2008 year-end financial statements on March 18, 2008.  The earnings conference call previously set for March 19, 2009 has however, now been rescheduled to March 20, 2009, in order to permit New Flyer to host a town hall meeting chaired by United States Vice President Joe Biden at the Company’s St. Cloud, Minnesota plant on March 19, 2009.

The town hall meeting of the White House Task Force on Middle Class Working Families has been entitled “Road to Recovery: Building a Strong Middle Class through the Recovery Act”. The Vice President and the other task force members will be discussing ways the implementation of the Recovery Act will help the middle class.

As stated in the press release issued by The Office of the Vice President, the Company’s plant has been selected as the location for the town hall meeting as “New Flyer is a leader in transit innovation and low-emission, alternate fueled vehicles.  Public transportation funding in the Recovery Act will create private sector jobs and enable more state and local governments add new, low-emission buses and expand public transportation options.”
