St. Cloud, Minnesota, USA \u2013 March 14, 2018:<\/strong> (TSX: NFI) New Flyer of America Inc. (\u201cNew Flyer\u201d), the U.S. subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc. (\u201cNFI Group\u201d), the largest transit bus and motor coach manufacturer and parts distributor in North America, today announced it is advancing third year production of 100 Xcelsior\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0diesel-electric hybrid, forty-foot heavy-duty transit buses for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (\u201cSEPTA\u201d). It is the third installment of a five-year contract for a total of 525 hybrid buses approved by SEPTA in May 2016.<\/p>\n

The buses will be deployed in the City of Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs of Delaware, Montgomery, Bucks, and Chester, supporting four million people living in and around southeastern Pennsylvania. The hybrid diesel-electric Xcelsior buses support SEPTA\u2019s \u201cSEPT-AINABLE 2020\u201d program, focused on achieving sustainability through a \u201ctriple bottom line\u201d approach that includes the natural environment, healthy communities and workforce, and economic vitality.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the five-year contract, hybrids will comprise 95 percent of SEPTA\u2019s bus fleet.<\/p>\n
