New Flyer will deliver 46 e-buses to Metro Transit for the city of Madison, USA

There is also room in the future of the city of Madison, Wisconsin, for 46 electric buses from New Flyer. Specifically, these are the 18-meter, battery-electric Xcelsior CHARGE NG model.

Introduced in 2021, the Xcelsior CHARGE NG incorporates three distinct technology advancements, including high-energy batteries, advanced protective battery packaging for easy install and simpler serviceability, and a new lightweight electric traction drive system with up to 90% energy recovery.

Giving other features of the electric buses, they will be equipped with the five-door configuration and 410 kWh high-power batteries. The purchase of the zero-emission, high-capacity machines was supported by Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds. They are scheduled to enter service in 2024.
