NFI Director John Marinucci named a Fellow of CPA Ontario
Winnipeg, December 8, 2020: (TSX:NFI) NFI Group Inc. (“NFI” or the “Company”), one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, is pleased to congratulate John Marinucci, Director and former President & Chief Executive Officer of NFI, on his receipt of the Fellow (FCPA) distinction by CPA Ontario.
FCPA is the highest distinction that can be bestowed upon a CPA. It is a special honour that recognizes the value that the member has brought to the profession through significant career achievements and contributions to the community.
Mr. Marinucci, CPA, CA, ICD.D, H.R.C.C.C, joined NFI as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2002, and retired as an executive officer of the company at the beginning of 2009. He is a Director of NFI Group, a Director of Intelgenx Corporation, and Chairperson of the Canadian Welding Foundation. Mr. Marinucci’s storied career includes roles as Governor and Chairperson of Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario; Chairperson for the CWB Group of Companies; Director of SMTC Corporation; Director of Advance Engineered Products Ltd.; President and Chief Operating Officer for a major Canadian manufacturer and lessor of freight railcars; and President of the Canadian Association of Railway Suppliers. He is also the founder and chairman of the Marinucci Family Foundation, a registered charity focused on funding education, live arts, and proactive healthcare initiatives.
Mr. Marinucci is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant, and he holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University. He is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and a graduate of the Directors Education Program.
A virtual award ceremony hosted by Peter Mansbridge and accompanied by Sarah McLachlan was held on December 3, 2020, to celebrate the occasion.
