Anniston Welcomes America’s First Innovation Lab for Bus Technology
The city of Anniston welcomes the official first innovation lab for bus and coach technology. New Flyer of America Incorporated cut the ribbon on its Vehicle Innovation Center today. The 36-acre, five building campus is now home to the new VIC.
It’s North America’s first innovation lab dedicated to the advancement of bus and coach technology. Anniston Mayor Jack Draper says this is a step in the right direction.
New Flyer has invested more than $4,000,000 into creating VIC and expects to invest an additional $5,000,000 in developing its electric-bus manufacturing program. The VIC mandate includes research, development and evolution of electric, autonomous and telematic technologies.
