New Flyer Leads the Industry with a Fourth Parts Distribution Center

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; November 2, 2011; (TSX:NFI, TSX:NFI.UN) New Flyer Industries Canada ULC (“New Flyer” or the “Company”), the Canadian operating subsidiary of the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses in Canada and the United States, opened its fourth Parts Distribution Center (“PDC”) on October 3, 2011. This PDC is located in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and is serving all customers in Eastern Canada.

“We are very excited to improve our level of service to our customers in this region,” said Paul Soubry, New Flyer’s President and CEO. “We have been delivering buses to this area for over 40 years, and have more than 3,000 buses and 40 customers within a 300-kilometer radius of the Greater Toronto/Hamilton Area. This new PDC allows us to continue to deliver on our commitment to provide the best bus value and support for life to our customers.”

This Eastern PDC in Brampton is 32,000 square feet and currently has nine employees managing its daily operations. This PDC is expected to stock in excess of 5,000 unique parts in inventory, which will allow New Flyer to further improve response time for service parts delivery, enhance parts availability, improve customer fill rates and provide better inventory management support for our newly launched service of Supply Chain Solutions.

“Our customers have asked for more localized support, and we are pleased to be able to meet their needs,” said Ian Smart, New Flyer’s newly-appointed Executive Vice President, Aftermarket. “They will now enjoy the benefits of improved delivery times and reduced inventory costs, which are very critical needs in today’s operating climate.”

New Flyer has more distribution centers than any other aftermarket parts supplier in the transit industry, and the locations for each of the four centers were strategically selected with customers’ needs at the forefront. New Flyer’s other three PDCs are located in Fresno, CA; Erlanger, KY; and Winnipeg, MB. The opening of the Eastern PDC in Brampton represents another step in New Flyer’s long-term strategy of providing industry-leading customer support. The Eastern PDC will carry a wide assortment of parts for New Flyer buses as well as parts for other common makes and models of buses.

New Flyer Parts employs over 150 dedicated team members, providing genuine original equipment products and specialty brands of service parts to all makes and models of transit buses.
