Getting ahead takes time – we have earned our spot at the top. We have seen our customers’ needs grow ever more complex, leading us to develop the most comprehensive and innovative line of heavy-duty transit buses in the US and Canada. We focus on excellence in all that we do, ensuring that our buses get on the road and stay there.

New Flyer has the broadest range of products in the industry and offers 30', 35', 40' and 60' lengths. We also continually evaluate new propulsion technologies in an effort to reach our goal of a commercially-viable, zero-emission, mass transit vehicle.

Our commitment to innovation has made us the leader in the heavy-duty bus market in the US and Canada. From breaking new ground with low-floor buses to pioneering cleaner propulsion systems, innovation and excellence have taken New Flyer to the top of the industry.

The features we have incorporated into our standard low-floor line of products have set standards for the transportation industry. Customers who have purchased New Flyer buses appreciate the commonality of parts among different models, which significantly decreases the amount of capital invested in spare parts required for emergency repairs.

New Flyer's latest introductions include a Restyled Standard Transit Bus and an Advanced Styled BRT Vehicle.  Both vehicles are based on our proven low-floor platform and incorporate advanced European styling for improved curb appeal.  Both vehicles sport a more streamlined and sleeker exterior to enhance the visibility of transit in the local communities we serve.  New Flyer's standard exterior continues to be available.

We are dedicated to the highest level of service, striving to maintain long-standing, strong relationships through product quality, reliability and on-time delivery. Our team of Regional Support Managers is based strategically throughout North America to provide quick response, ensuring that your buses are in service and earning revenue.

Construction
In our standard low-floor models (30, 35, 40, and 60-foot), the chassis and frame are designed and constructed in either heavy-duty, semi-monocoque carbon or 100% stainless-steel. High-tensile steel plate and tubing make up the skeletal structure, with sealed aluminum panels covering the frame, protecting it and the shell underside from moisture and debris. All New Flyer buses are tested and proven to be engineered and constructed and to provide long service hours in extreme weather conditions.

Electrical System
We offer the latest in electrical diagnostic technology. The company was the first to introduce Programmable Logic Control (PLC) technology to the heavy-duty bus industry, allowing for multiplexing, with only one wire raceway for communication among major components in a bus. With fewer wires and relays, PLC reduces the overall weight of the bus, making sub-systems easy to diagnose using ladder logic software in a user-friendly PC laptop environment.

Accessibility
New Flyer buses are standard with an air-driven kneeling system and a flip-out ramp to assist riders with wheelchairs or mobility aids. The ramp is located on the inside of the bus at the front entrance door and is easily operated by the driver using a three-position switch (float, deploy, stow). The ramp technology incorporates a number of failsafe features, including interlocks, which prevents the bus from engaging with a deployed ramp, and a manual override, permitting the driver to re-stow the ramp without using the switch. The forward section of the bus is free of steps, with two wheelchair positions located directly behind the front wheel wells, making it easy for all passengers to board and ride a New Flyer bus.

Heavy-Duty Components
We build buses to last. Our buses withstand harsh temperatures, humidity, precipitation, road degradation, load extremes and abuse. As such, New Flyer parts are among the most durable available, exceeding stringent engineering standards and proven in reliable service.

Passenger Amenities
New Flyer builds buses with the passenger in mind. From improved accessibility to contemporarily styled and comfortable environments, New Flyer buses are engineered to keep passengers riding. Windows are easy to open, driver-alert pull cords are easy to reach, windows are large and at seat level, and efficient air conditioning systems provide the optimal temperature and keeps air fresh.

Driver Amenities
Transit drivers appreciate the layout of the instrument panel and the location of switches on the driver console. Easy-to-read gauges, clearly marked switches, ergonomically foot pedals, secure barriers, effective mirror locations, and the most adjustable transit seat in the industry are some of the many features that result in reduced driver fatigue and improved employee morale.

Maintenance Features
Modular bus designs and commonality of parts across all low-floor models simplify maintenance and reduce costs. Large interior and exterior access panels allow for quick and easy maintenance. Cantilevered seats, durable and easy-to-clean flooring, anti-graffiti side panels, and an exterior design that moves dust and water away from the doors of the bus will keep buses clean and looking new. New Flyer buses are accompanied by electronic, easy-to-search service and parts manuals to quickly diagnose and repair problem areas. We also offer on-site training and refresher courses for maintenance crews.

Testing
All New Flyer buses, parts and technologies are thoroughly tested and proven, and are backed by comprehensive warranties. With over 75 years of experience, New Flyer has earned the reputation of manufacturing the safest and most durable heavy-duty transit buses on the road.
