On October 19, 2009, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation
Authority (SEPTA) hosted a media event that included SEPTA officials, U.S.
Federal officials and Joel Abraman, New Flyer’s Eastern Sales Director.
The event was a celebration of the progress SEPTA has made in its
efforts to “Go Green,” and New Flyer buses are a significant component in its
success. |
| SEPTA currently has 252 New Flyer diesel-electric hybrids and by
2010, one-quarter of SEPTA’s fleet will be New Flyer hybrids. SEPTA is the 10th
largest transit system in North America and has one of the largest hybrid
fleets. |
