Garden of Giving

New Flyer's Garden of Giving was planted in June of 2010 at the Winnipeg headquarters. Produce was donated to a local charity.


Habitat for Humanity

On August 11, 2009 New Flyer participated int he construction of several homes as part of Habitat for Humanity Adopt A Day Program in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Thirty-four families are expected to move into their new homes by 2011.

New Flyer has an integrated management system that incorporates the elements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 along with the principles of OHSAS 18001. All three New Flyer manufacturing facilities are registered to these three standards. New Flyer is the only manufacturer in its sector to have obtained all three certifications.

ISO/OHSAS certifications are an important element of the New Flyer Management Systems because they support continuous improvement in first-time product quality, on-time delivery, manufacturing cost reduction and improved product performance and reliability.

The implementation of an integrated management system has progressed New Flyer beyond mere regulatory compliance to a position of environmental advocacy in its local communities and the North American transit market.

ISO 9001

New Flyer was the first North American bus manufacturer to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification across all manufacturing facilities, and has maintained its certification since initial registration in 1998. This certification confirms that the New Flyer Management Systems meet or exceed the International Quality Standard and satisfy the ISO certification requirements specified by our customers and APTA.

ISO 14001

In June 2005, all three divisions of New Flyer were certified to the ISO 14001 environmental management standard. This certification helps assure our customers of our commitment to demonstrable environmental management along with enhancing our corporate image in an environmentally sensitive market place.

OHSAS 18001

New Flyer achieved OHSAS 18001 certification in 2005, making it the first in its sector to obtain this certification. New Flyer strongly believes that continuous improvements in workplace health and safety can only lead to enhanced worker satisfaction and improved productivity.
