New Flyer DE60LF-BRT

New Flyer's Advanced Styling BRT
We are pleased to have selected New Flyer of America to provide the Rapid Transit Vehicles (RTV's) for our Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. This unique hybrid electric vehicle will provide a rail like image to allow RTA to brand the Euclid Corridor as our premium service.

Bus Rapid Transit, or BRT, is gaining momentum in North America as a way to move mass transit riders quickly to a central location. Instead of building a fixed infrastructure, such as seen in rail applications, BRT uses rubber tired buses, express lanes, priority signals, and in some cases, dedicated lanes. Routes can be redirected quickly in the case of minor obstructions, or if traffic patterns change, new routes can be reconstructed without any major impact to investments already made.
New Flyer has been supplying buses to BRT systems for almost 20 years. Articulated, or 60-foot buses, are preferred for their high capacity and low cost of ownership. Advancements in vehicle and propulsion technolgy, coupled with New Flyer’s modular design, enables us to offer buses suited to any city's BRT system requirements.
Standard Low-Floor
New Flyer’s rugged low-floor product has been incorporated into BRT systems by transit agencies who rely on the dependability of their vehicles to maximize revenues. They enjoy a product that is locally made and supported, components that are North American sourced, and that is well known by drivers and riders alike. Configurable seating arrangements, unique paint schemes, alternative fueled or electric-hybrid propulsion systems, and space for high tech vehicle and location-based systems give transit authorities everything required to offer a successful BRT system to their dedicated ridership. Articulated vehicles are a popular choice for their high seating and standee capacity.
New Flyer offers two types of articulated vehicles – the D60LF, using clean diesel as a fuel source; and the DE60LF, a diesel-electric hybrid version of our popular low floor product. Some have chosen the ever popular, low emission, and quiet operating DE40LF as well to augment their BRT routes.
