|
November 11th, 2003 - New Flyer's Invero™ took center stage at the 2003 Canadian Urban Transit Association Conference and Bus Expo, winning Best Vehicle Display at this year's event. A 2003 Burlington Transit Invero™ was displayed alongside a mock transit stop, including a bus shelter, bench seating, and street-like surroundings. New Flyer's Parts and Service booth, adjacent to the Invero™ display, further strengthened New Flyer's brand presence.
Paul Smith, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for New Flyer, said "Innovations found in the Invero™ are what transit agencies are coming to expect and it's great to see that New Flyer has once again revolutionized the industry by staying one step ahead of the competition." Mr. Smith went on to say, "With firm orders from OC Transpo (Ottawa, ON) and Community Transit (Everett, WA), as well as in-revenue-service vehicles in St.Catharines, London, and Burlington Transit (all of Ontario), the Invero™ is gaining momentum and creating a new class of vehicle that drivers, maintenance personnel, and riders have come to expect from a transit bus."
The Invero™, a 40-foot, low floor, transit vehicle, is the next generation of low floor bus. Its stylish interior, with panoramic, no glare windows and comfortable seating for up to 44 passengers, is a pleasure for drivers and riders alike. Maintenance personnel enjoy the reliability of the Invero™, a quality New Flyer is recognized for.
"New Flyer is proud to have been selected for this year's award," said Amy Miller, New Flyer’s Director of Marketing and New Product Development. "New Flyer's commitment to the customer is what guided Invero™ through the new product development process." Ms. Miller added " The award today goes out to all involved at New Flyer in making the Invero™ a superior vehicle that transit agencies can rely on."
This year's Conference and Expo took place in Canada's economic mecca -- Toronto, ON. Attendance at the event was abundant, with delegates from across Canada and some US states in attendance. Other vehicles displayed included Bus OEM's from Daimler Chrysler, Nova Bus, MCI, Blue Bird, Eldorado-Chance, as well as many others. Next year's conference is in Montreal, Quebec where CUTA will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
