Position Summary:

The plant manager is responsible for the daily management and coordination of plant production operations while ensuring compliance with all people relations, safety, environmental, policies and regulations.

What you will do:

  • Lead the plant production team in day to day manufacturing activities to ensure adherence to the production schedule.
  • Develop and maintain operational budgets, reviewing on a monthly basis with budget owners to identify deviations and ensure corrective measures are taken.
  • Develop yearly capital budget for the facility. 
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate issues and improve product quality.
  • Review and maintain employment levels to meet production output while maintaining goals on a per unit basis.
  • With the Maintenance Engineering department review upcoming contracts to ensure equipment requirements are met and operating changes are done.
  • Promote employee relations through settlement of issues in a timely matter. 
  • Work with the QA department to develop and implement processes and procedural changes to further enhance quality.
  • Promote and identify training and workforce planning requirements. 
  • Ensure policy and procedure requirements are met including Quality, Environmental, and Health and Safety programs.

Skills and Experience:

  • Post secondary education in operations/engineering management or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/operations leadership role
  • Superior interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor others, and ability to work well under pressure
  • MRP exposures/knowledge is required
